Duke Reponds to Critics of Sexual Identity Crisis Article

This is a response to critics of my piece "Death of the West: Our Sexual Identity Crisis." It originally appeared at American Thinker.

Because of the controversy this article has evoked, the editor of American Thinker, Thomas Lifson, has requested that I address some of the criticisms I’ve received.  And I am happy to do so, as it’s obvious that some critics haven’t read the whole piece, have only skimmed it, or reacted to it so emotionally that they couldn’t digest what was actually written.

Don’t Cry for Roman Polanski

Even if time does heal all wounds, it certainly doesn’t make us forget all crimes. And, finally, after 31 years on the run from U.S. authorities, Roman Polanski, director, producer, writer, actor, and rapist, may be brought to justice.

On September 26, Polanski was arrested at Zürich Airport in Switzerland on an outstanding international warrant as he tried to enter the country to attend an event. The Polish-born director had long avoided countries that might have extradited him to the United States, remaining mainly in France (where he holds citizenship), Germany, Poland, and the Czech Republic. However, American authorities had learned of Polanski’s trip to Switzerland in time to negotiate for his arrest with Swiss law enforcement.

Death of the West: Our Sexual Identity Crisis

Perhaps you’ve heard the tragic story of David Reimer.  Born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada in 1966, David was the victim of a botched circumcision that left his penis charred beyond surgical repair.  His parents Ron and Janet, no doubt beside themselves, were confused about the best way to proceed.  Then, one day, they saw a man named Dr. John Money on television.

Money was talking about his theory of “gender neutrality,” which states that “gender identity” is learned rather than innate.  The idea was that the sexes were the same except for the superficial physical differences; this implies that if a child were altered so as to superficially resemble the opposite sex and was raised as one of its members, he would be happy with that sexual identity.  Hearing this, the Reimers hoped they had found their salvation.

Is YouTube Cooking Stats for Obama?

News aggregator DrudgeReport.com is currently linking to a YouTube video of a government schoolteacher instructing young students to praise Obama in song. While this is shocking, there is an even bigger story here. Consider this: the video’s “views” counter listed only 363 views as of 1:04 p.m. EST on Sept. 24.

But at the same time it had 2,279 comments.  

What’s wrong with this picture?

Here is yet another video of a leftist government schoolteacher brainwashing children and teaching them to praise Mr. Hussein.

Even more significant than this, however, is how YouTube is obviously cooking the video statistics so as to benefit Obama.  As of 1:04 PM Eastern Time today, the video's hit counter listed only 363 views but 2,279 comments.  Now, since comments always represent only a few percent of the total traffic, the most likely scenario is that YouTube — owned by leftist leviathan Google — is purposely suppressing the true hit number so as to keep the video off its main page and avoid exposing yet another ugly truth about the left. 

Disgusting, but par for the course for the shameless liars who run these companies.

Segregation Today, Segregation Tomorrow, Segregation Forever in Tucson

Would you hire school teachers and mete out punishment to students based on race? Some obviously would, as this is exactly what’s happening in Tucson Unified School District (TUSD) in Arizona.

The district has decided that instead of choosing teachers based on the outdated concept of merit, it will hire teaching staff who reflect the racial composition of its largely minority student population. Opining on this in the Arizona Republic, Doug MacEachern writes, “In a year in which hundreds of district teachers received pink slips, meanwhile [sic], TUSD spent thousands on recruiting teachers from out of state. And it hired a coordinator at $80,000 per annum to lead the effort.”

Soda Is the New Tobacco

Ever since Barack Obama floated the idea of a soda tax, oh-so-caring politicians have been lining up to save you from yourself. Ka-ching.

First it was tobacco, with Al Gore, who grew the plant but never inhaled, preaching against it. Next it was SUVs, with Arianna Huffington warning that it was unsustainable for the average American to use one-tenth the amount of energy she does. Then it was the anti-tranny crowd, with localities all over banning trans-fats. Now it’s little boys’ bubbly, soda, which little boy San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom calls “the new tobacco.”

Yes, the “sin tax” crowd is at it again, preaching health and seeing wealth.
